Creating a new, shared language, together.
I’m Jordanna - an Art Psychotherapist and Doctoral Candidate with over 7 years of post-qualification experience.
As a practitioner I’m interested in understanding you as best as I possibly can, in a shared language that makes sense to you, which is why I studied as a creative therapist. Whether we use words or imagery, I hope to understand you so that you’re better able to understand yourself in time.

My Practice Principles
Understanding
I believe that my role - put simply - is to understand you as best as I possibly can. To do that, we need to listen to the person who knows you best - you.
It’s also important for me to make sure that you can understand me, too. I believe part of my role is to make sure that the therapy you’re engaging in makes sense to you.
Authenticity
Therapy can be daunting, especially when you’re sharing things you might not have spoke about before. I practice with authenticity and transparency with the hope that this builds the trust needed for you to safely explore the things that feel most challenging for you.
Dialogue
It’s essential that you feel listened to, heard, understood and acknowledged as part of this therapy process.
Equally, I believe it’s important for us to communicate in a way that works for you. This may also mean (especially for children) that I also learn how to best speak to the important people around you (such as partners, parents, or carers).
